What is the difference between the Flex and Flex Pro?

Flex Pro

  • Connects to your laptop with 1 cable
  • A driver is always required to run both screens
  • The most plug-and-play option

Flex

  • Connects via USB-C/A + HDMI, at least 2 cables required
  • Your laptop must have at least 1 USB-C port that supports video output and power
  • Data + power only is not enough
  • DisplayPort or Thunderbolt USB-C ports do support video. Check difference in ports here.

⚠️ Important:
Always check if your USB-C port supports video output.

Not every USB-C port supports video output and you need at least 1 USB-C port to use the Blerron Flex.

If your laptop doesn't have a USB-C that supports video and power, you need the Blerron Flex Pro.

When do I need a driver?

What does the driver do?

Blerron uses a driver from Silicon Motion.

Silicon Motion is a publicly listed, globally active technology company that has been developing solutions for monitors and docking stations for many years.

The driver enables your laptop to use multiple external displays at the same time, even when this is not supported by default.

The driver:

  • Only handles display output
  • Has no access to personal files
  • Does not transmit any data
  • Runs only when the Blerron is connected

Silicon Motion technology is used in docking stations and USB-C solutions from well-known brands such as Dell, HP, Lenovo, and Samsung.

Proven, secure, and an industry standard for many years.

Blerron Flex (non-Pro)

No software required if:

  • Your laptop can send both video and power via USB-C
  • You have a MacBook with M1 / M2 / M3 Pro or Max
  • You have a MacBook with M4 or later

Driver (and adapter) required if:

  • You have a MacBook with M1 / M2 / M3 (without Pro or Max)

➡️ Apple normally allows only one external display.

➡️ The driver removes this limitation.

How do I connect the monitors to my laptop?

There are several ways to connect, depending on the ports your laptop has:

  1. 2x USB-C (video + power)

    – Works if your laptop has two USB-C ports that support video (DisplayPort/Thunderbolt) and power.
  2. 1x USB-C (video + power) + 1x HDMI + 1x USB-A/C

    – Works if your laptop has only one USB-C port that supports video and power.
  3. 1x USB-C (power only, no video) + 1x HDMI + 1x Adapter

    – For laptops where the USB-C port does not support video. An adapter and driver are required.
  4. 1–2x USB-A + 1x HDMI + 1x Adapter

    – For laptops without USB-C ports. HDMI handles video, USB-A provides power (may require 2 ports if power is low). Adapter + driver required.
  5. MacBooks with M1/M2/M3 (non-Pro/Max)

    – Require 1x USB-C and 1x Adapter with driver.

    – For MacBook Pro/Max and M4 models: adapter is not needed.

How do the monitors get power?

The monitors get power through the laptop. You can connect the monitors with a USB-C or USB-A cable.

You can also charge the laptop through the Blerron Flex. When you add the charging cable to the back of the Flex, it will passthrough the power to the laptop.

Are all cables and adapter included?

Yes all cables and the adapter is included!

Do I need to install any software or drivers?

In most cases, no drivers are needed — you can plug and play.

In some cases (for example when your laptop’s USB-C port doesn’t support video or you have a MacBook with M1/M2/M3 Chip, not Pro/Max of M4), a driver is required.

You can check here if your laptop needs a driver.

Can I adjust the height or tilt of the monitor?

Yes, with the included foldable stand, you can slightly increase the height of the whole setup. Make sure the stand can reach the table or desk you work on to support the laptop.

Does it fit my laptop?

It fits 99% of laptops. It fits on laptops ranging from 13" to 17.3".
